Bill Wulff, CMP
has an eclectic history in the hospitality industry. Beginning
his career with the Walt Disney World Company in 1981, Bill
has since gone on to work with various prestigious firms including:
Marriot Theme Parks, Hilton Hotels, NBC, PolyGram Records,
World Travel Partners, MetLife and Above The Rim Events.
His special event and meeting experience include a wide range
of programs that include Conventions, Board Meetings, Marketing
Meetings, Domestic & International Incentive Programs,
Sports Hospitality Programs, Product Launches and more.
Bill has also presented seminars for New Jersey’s MPI Chapter,
Meeting World and Meetings West. He has been known to challenge
tradition, push the creative envelope and makeover business
practices wherever he is involved. He looked at the media
involved in the meetings industry and realized the time and
technology was ripe for Talk Radio targeted to our industry.
Dawn Penfold, CMP
has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. As
President of THE MEETING CANDIDATE NETWORK, INC.,THE INCENTIVE
NETWORK, and MEETINGJOBS.COM, she plays an integral role in
the operations and recruitment activities of the only search
firm committed to the placement of meeting and incentive professionals.
Dawn has served as President on the Board of Directors for
the Greater New York Chapter of Meeting Professionals International
and is a past Board Member for the New York Chapter of Professional
Convention Management Association. She has published articles
on the meetings industry for "Meeting News", "Meetings
and Conventions Magazine", "Successful Meetings"
and “Meetings Manager” and publishes a monthly newsletter
“Network Opportunities” offering sound advice in career management
and job opportunities in the meeting and incentives industry.
She most recently was recognized by Meeting News as one of
the 20 most influential people in the Meetings Industry.
John Maddox, CMP
founded Meetings IT, Inc., a technology consulting and outsourcing
company dedicated to the meetings and events industry, on
the premise that the role of technology in running events
would continue grow year after year. With decades of experience
in many facets of the meetings and events industry, John brings
significant insight to the application of technologies to
this business.
John has presented at several Greater New York MPI Back
to Basics programs, moderated a technology discussion forum
at MPI World Congress and sat on industry panels at Meeting
World and other industry events. John has published technology
articles in the Greater New York MPI newsletter and has
been featured in Meeting News as one of the industries "Technology
Gurus".
As former Director of Software Solutions at ISIS Corporation,
John was the chief designer and development manager of the
Gold System, the industry standard for enterprise level
comprehensive meetings management software. John has experienced
a countless variety of meeting management structures and
the challenges and successes associated with each. John
has a substantial career foundation built upon his experience
as the Senior Meeting Planner at Deloitte & Touche and
then Director of Conference Management at Caribiner Communications.
Add to this his experience as a Catering and Sales Manager
with Marriott Hotels and Resorts, and you struggle to find
a part of the industry John has not experienced first-hand.
Beth Shubert founded
Evention, Inc., a New Jersey based special events company
in 1989. Having traveled extensively as a child and with
family involved in the Restaurant and Hospitality businesses,
Beth developed an early eye for sophisticated celebrating.
Beth soon partnered with Warren Schneider, a landscape
and floral designer, to bring unparalleled style to their
events. Evention has grown over the past 15 years to
include a full design studio run by Warren as EVENTION'S Vice
President. Their clientele ranges from Corporate clientele
such as Pfizer and General Electric; to top Hospitals , The
Red Cross and other Not-for-profits; to those desiring superior
Social events such as the Distinctive Mitzvahs
recently featured in "Special Events Magazine".
EVENTION has also been written about in "Entrepreneur
Magazine", "Parent Guide", "The Bergen
Record" Newspaper, "Event World" Magazine,
and on Biz Bash's Style page.
